What to do with an iPad?
I was surfing around looking for tools to mark up the computer screen when I came across Autodesk Sketchbook Pro for iPad. You’ve got to see the video to believe it.

My theory from my porch swing,
Steve Jobs and Apple has had that: “oops I’ve done it again” moment with this tablet computer. I started with computing with a old Radio Shack 5.5” floppy it was just NOT cool. Then, I bought a Apple Mac SE with a dual 3.5” floppy, that was big stuff then, it was way-cool. No hard drives back then, everything was on that floppy disk. It was off to the races and Apple had changed my life. I changed mostly to PCs later as it cost less and work life called for learning software on the MS operating system. Apple with elegance of engineering and design changed personal computing. Think back to the 1984 commercial of the young female athlete hurling her hammer at big brother and changing the landscape. I think this will tablet will be as big as I-tunes has been in the music industry. VIDEO

My evolution as a “user” was very similar ( moof ).
Instead of hanging onto AAPL stock , I accumulated rafts of olde Apple hardware , including an original “Big Brother” post.
It’s kept right next to my sock full of Gold.

i happened to be in chicago at the huge apple store on the magnificent mile when it was rolled out and i was underwhelmed. i was an mac fan for years but switched to pc’s in the late 90′s because that was what real companies used for real applications and so maybe i’ve just been conditioned to not see how cool it is.

Personally, I would agree. I am underwhelmed in it’s applications. I am expecting the i-pad to become more over time. I have no plans to buy the I-pad. But, for most end users it will work now. After all, people can play all day while Athens and the markets burn.
I shopped for my MAC in 1986-7. My brother and I bought two of the expensive things. His kids could use it for school work. It made word processing a breeze for me, which was before what-you-see-is-what-you-get on the PCs’.
